No Reservation Needed
Our habits are exposed when we travel. My past experiences include booking the plane ticket a few days in advance when I knew I was going on the trip for months, arriving at the airport while my plane boards (this is a frequent occurrence), and racing through the boarded plane and back to my gate before takeoff because I left my phone charging.
My first trip of 2025 crossed off a destination that’s been on my bucket list for over four years: Mexico City. What are the first attractions that come to mind? The second? Yeah, I forgot to book both in advance. Despite not visiting The Frida Kahlo Museum or Casa Luis Barragán, I danced through the city. And hey, now I have an excuse to go back!
In truth, food is THE experience when traveling. At least that’s what I look forward to most when I explore somewhere new. I probably don’t plan because I get overwhelmed by it but then not planning stresses me out even more. To my surprise (and benefit), my favorite restaurants in CDMX didn’t require a reservation.
I’ll keep it simple for my fellow Type A people who’ve overcompensated and become Type B travelers. Here are my top five places that you MUST try when you go, organized in no way whatsoever:
Best part? No reservation needed.
